Silence is a Faithful Friend

Silence is a faithful friend. Often villainized like a popular hunchback, crouching in the dark waiting to pounce rather than it’s true nature of invitation. Welcoming you to sit down with a cup of tea and meet it face to face. Abiding, nurturing, with slow invitation to rest.

Who are you without the noise?

Silence creates space to dwell, to weep, to laugh. How can you listen without it? It gives you a canvas for your dreams, your hopes, your goals. To allow yourself to meet you again. It gives way to deep breaths.

What dreams are you painting?

Hopes like bright red poppies in the landscape of your life. Longings like steady, clear streams. Dreams like wheat swaying in the wind ready for harvest. All encouraged by this companion.

What is the fruit of your silence?

Take it’s hand once again to be trained in it’s discipline. To allow it to be a safe haven from the clutter of the every day. To tune your body to rest, enjoyment, and communion.

Because how can you escape the noise without silence?

Much love,

Lis
